The West Frankfort Coalition for the Homeless is a Not-For-Profit organization that aims to address the homelessness problem in Franklin County. Our efforts have started on the ground in West Frankfort, and we hope to collaborate and expand services into surrounding communities, as well. The coalition consists of a Task Force of volunteers, led by President Leigh Caldwell, and representing nearly two dozen organizations, to date. Volunteers meet on the second Monday of each month at 10 am, located at the Fig & Vine office in downtown West Frankfort. Meetings aim to discuss needs, barriers, opportunities, and a loving call to action to address the homelessness problem. The coalition also operates a Not-For-Profit Board led by Dr. Tara Chambers to make decisions and organize the coalition legally within the State of Illinois. All are welcome to join us in building a better tomorrow for those least advantaged in our communities.
The Kind Closet Collective
Kind Closet Collective is a curated resale clothing initiative designed to support the work of the West Frankfort Coalition for the Homeless. Rather than operating as a traditional thrift store, the concept focuses on high-quality secondhand clothing that is carefully selected and sold through small retail displays, pop-up sales, and online channels. Proceeds from sales will be directed towards supporting the coalition’s work addressing homelessness in our community.
